Homework/Tarea
Homework is an important extension of the learning that takes place in school. Every night your child will bring home a few assignments that will reinforce what has been taught during the day. Parents will find the assigned homework in the student’s planner. Please, use the planner to write any comments or questions you might have. I will try not to overwhelm my students with homework, since it is my belief that students’ experiences outside the school are also filled with learning opportunities. If, for any reason, a student is not able to complete his/her homework, I would appreciate a short comment from his/her parents or guardians. In addition, I ask my students to read for thirty minutes every night. Parents and children can choose together the type of texts that are appropriate for this reading time, as well as the format they want to adopt (child reads to parent, parent reads to child, etc). My only advice is that children should only read texts they enjoy. Their happiness is my priority.
